Our focus in reading has been toward non-fiction. We have looked at the way non-ficiton is structured differently than fiction and have learned to take advantage of all the features that this type of text uses to help the reader understand difficult information. Much of reading practice has been done in conjunction with our study of NW Native Americans. Students are reading and researching information as they proceed through the curriculum.
